Font list for PDF Form Text Fields Missing Fonts vs Text Frames

A different set of fonts is available in the Content Properties for PDF form text fields than for text frames, and none of the 14 base fonts appear for PDF form text fields.  I would be happy with one of the 14 the base fonts.  Why are they not in the list of fonts in Content Properties for PDF form text fields?  (They do appear in the Content Properties font list for text frames).  Is there some other set of properties I should be looking at for PDF form text fields?

In the screenshots, you can see that Times New Roman does not appear in the text field list.

In my application, it there is some extra complication involved in using non-standard embedded fonts, so i would like my PDF document not to specify any.  But I can't manage to do that for form text fields.

Have you tried double clicking the pdf field after you create it? This window opens when I do double click it. I think this is what you are looking for.

The 14 fonts your are looking for should be in the drop down menu in the appearance tab.

PDF forms use the standard 14 PDF fonts.. search for those teams online and you'll get tons of returned sites.

I guess the issue here is that the fonts for text frames are the ones installed in the PC.

The fonts for PDF form fields is just a setting telling the PDF viewer which font to use for the field, the fonts will be provided by the PDF viewer and not the PDF form?
