Quote from: KP on September 04, 2025, 09:14:35 AMIt's Scribus 1.6.4

Here's 4 screenshots, showing two images before and after closing scribus.

It seems to enlarge the images. Sometimes it also enlarges the frame and moves nodes.

The images are PNG files with transparent backgrounds.

Thank you!

Yes the images are resizing for some reason. Is there any dpi information associated with the images? Where are the images from? are the they from a collection of clipart? or images that you are modifing?

My middle mouse button is on the mouse wheel and i find it awkward to use. It also has left right switches on the wheel too. also awkward to use.

Can you try if it also happens with the attached file?

you can also pan with the middle click (if you don't have a three buttons mouse, then it's a click on the mouse wheel), shift-mouse wheel scrolls horizontally and pressing the space in the normal mode enables the panning mode: you can then pan by simply moving the mouse.

i guess that scribus supports almost all ways of panning...

where / how would you want to see them documented?

While one can pan a document via the sliders, or mouse wheel (left and right with a mouse that has switches in the wheel), there is another way i stumbled  across, i checked for any mention in scribus docs but did not find any.

If you hold CTRL and right click and hold while on a page you can pan the page around. works best when zoomed in a page of course..

Is this mentioned in the documentation anywhere? I may have missed it.

I think we will need a screen show showing how it looks before the save and then then a screenshot after a reopen.

What version of scribus are you using?

and to clarify, are the image frames moving? or the contents of the frame? or, are the edited nodes changing position?

Thank you, it would be great to know if there's a solution!

Here's an example of what's happening. The first image appears to be fine this time, the next two aren't as I left them.

Thanks again!

Would you mind sharing a .sla file that shows the issue?

You don't need to include the actual image, the empty image frame is enough...

MacOS / [SOLVED] Newbie - images keep ...
Last post by KP - September 03, 2025, 05:31:43 PM
Hi, I'm new to Scribus - really loving the functionality but have a problem with images. I'm using a Mac laptop with Sequoia.

Because I want the text to wrap around my images, I've been edited the nodes (via the Shape edit menu). It all seemed to work perfectly. Then I noticed that whenever I save the file, close and later reopen it, the oulines of the shapes have moved leaving parts of the image inside hidden.

It's happening all the time and making Scribus un-useable for this current project :(

Please can anyone suggest any ways to stop this happening?
Thank you
