User Interface / Indigo UI: Text Properties
Last post by tim_occ - September 16, 2024, 10:12:46 PM
Hi all,

I started to redesign the text properties panel.
Especially for the text color buttons, I tried a new approach with an icon. What do you think about it?

Quote from: Worldy on September 11, 2024, 08:19:10 PMHello everyone! I have use Scribus on Ubuntu successfully for self publishing books, notebooks and calendars. I am looking to create diaries for this 2025, 1 page per day, any tutorial or guidance? 🤔 Thank you
We nee d a bit of clarification, are you creating a blank diary as a print version to be filled in. Or are you thinking about using scribus  to write  a diary "on the fly"?

I don't know anything for sure, but my first guess is that maybe you need a newer Qt library? (At least the Q suggests to me it is a Qt issue, and the error message indicates a declaration i missing.)

(I have never compiler Scribus myself, I just thought that since nobody else has answered I'd try to give you some input.)

I personally do not think Scribus is the best tool for such a project (even though it can probably be done with the Scribus Generator). It would probably be a lot easier to do in for example Libre Office.

I would probably have done it on my work PC (which has MS Office) using a combination of Excel (for the data, like dates, months, days, weekdays etc) and Word (using mail merge with the data from the Excel file). But that is just because since I use MS Office every day at work, this is what I know best.

You should look into 'Scribus Generator', it is like a mailmerge script. There used to be some tutorials on youtube, been awhile since I looked at them.

Cheers!

Code / [SOLVED] 17x Won't Compile
Last post by MattMiller - September 14, 2024, 03:59:04 PM
For the past couple days I've been unable to compile the trunk code from svn:

[ 62%] Building CXX object scribus/CMakeFiles/scribus.dir/ui/widgets/pagesizelist.cpp.o
/Scribus/scribus/ui/widgets/pagesizelist.cpp: In member function 'QIcon PageSizeList::sizePreview(QSize, QSize) const':
/Scribus/scribus/ui/widgets/pagesizelist.cpp:153:35: error: 'qApp' was not declared in this scope
  153 |         double devicePixelRatio = qApp->devicePixelRatio();
