Last post by hibert42 - May 19, 2025, 09:37:56 PM
Is there any way of changing colors of an SVG?
It would be soooo helpfull...

As I understand it, it is not possible in 1.6.x
Is it in in 1.7 ?

Yes it seems to be a little bit inacurate by times.
It works! But Sometimes it doesn't. I zoom a little bit and it works!

I guess instead of writing -45 you could write 360-45.

In 1.6.4 it is not possible to use a negative value.
If it is possible my life is easier.
I have no strong opinion wrt default direction.

To nobody surprise, I prefer not to have a configuration for this.

As I wrote and as you also noted, it's easy to get used to the one or the other. (And typing the other one, should be as easy as typing a negative number).

More often than not, the desire for a thing to be configurable, is a sign that it is simply not good enough...

in inkscape the rotation input field in the lower left corner uses positive values to rotate clockwise. but this just rotates the view of the document, not a selection. when rotating a selection with 'object' → 'transform' → 'rotate' the direction has to be selected before a click on 'apply' does the trick. (the default is counterclockwise for positive values...)
...and in autocad the direction can be defined in the settings.

in the beginnings of cad (i worked in the eighties with such a system...) the direction was counterclockwise. but as a sailor – used to work with a compass – i prefer it clockwise...

what's best for anyone? do we need it selectable?

for me it does (in 1.6.4 and 1.7.0) – at least as long as 'snap to guides' is active.

well.... I have to admit, I wrote my rsponse before reading yours.

Item Snapping... I did not know about that.
And I have spent the entire last day writing a script.

Well at least I now have a script to set the a frame to the size of the page + bleeding.

Quotescribus will also snap to it, if you have defined one.
is it?
I tried it and it is not snapping to the bleed extension...

from the screenshots, it might be possible to try to replicate.

but i was thinking of a sample .sla file : - )
it does not need to be the file you're working on, you can create a small one that shows the issues.
