Text importing with ODT and RTF

Hey, new guy here trying to learn the ropes.

Whenever I try to use the "Get Text..." to pull in text from a formatted ODT or RTF file, it seems to get imported as one single paragraph. Story editor will show:

"Here's some text.*This should be another paragraph on a new line.*This should be another paragraph"

While visually it doesn't look problematic, it does cause problems for paragraphs that would need a different style, or for having text properly aligned.

Any idea for this?

i can't reproduce your issue with scribus 1.6.6 and 1.7.3 on mac os. the paragraphs are the same as in the source file.
what is your scribus version and operating system?
could you provide a sample .odt file that produces the problem?
