Scribus on Linux - Problems when printing on RGB color printer

I am an experienced user when working with the Adobe Creative Suite up to version CS6. I am using this on a Windows-7 VM. Now I wanted to make work easier and give Scribus a try.

Quickly I have created a small display and wanted to print it on my Canon Maxify GX4050. There were only some features, I missed in comparison to InDesign 6, concerning typography.

In order to get correct color reproduction, I am using the program TurboPrint in connection with ICC profiles, which I have created by myself.

Then the problems began, by trying to set up the print menu with all its features. At the end, I had to export my creation to PDF and print from another program.

First:
it seems, that I have to create a print preview before any print data will be transferred to output.

Second:
it seems, that I cannot place a DIN A5 design in the center of an DIN A4 page, in order to add color test strips to the DIN A5 design, which of course does need some additional place around. There is nor function for centering the print in a larger page.

Third:
TurboPrint is an additional printer driver which embeds in the CUPS printing system inclusive littleCMS. TurboPrint administers the different ICC profiles and ink setups by user defined names for the different paper/ink combinations. These can be chosen in the printing menu by selecting these names as a "special kind of paper". This works well in all programs on my Manjaro Linux with XFCE desktop. But not in Scribus!

In Scribus, the paper/profile combination names will appear in the drop down select box as Custom1004_3, Custom1005_3, Custom1007_3 etc. Should I guess which one will represent which profile/paper combination name???

Further there is a selection for the RGB working space. I would expect, to find sRGB, Adobe-RGB or ECI-RGB. But instead I can choose values from 1 to 6. Additionally I find the numbers 1008, 1009 and 1010. This is similar to the previous problem: Is ist a joke to let me guess???

Next one does concern all the settings, which are available for shadow correction, ink limit, intensity for the differnet colors etc. All these values are preset to a value of -50. And they can be varied by a drop down list between -50 and +50. This is very confusing because in the print menu of all other programs, the default value for all of these items is set to 100% and from that, it can be varied from -50% to +50%. – So what result should I assume, when I let the default setting remain at +50? Is this aquivalent to -50%? Then it would be wrong.

Is there an experienced user, who can answer these weired things?

It is usually recommended to export to PDF and print from that, since printing directly from Scribus is a lot more difficult.

As I understand it the reason is that for printing Scribus needs to "communicate" with the underlying printing system of the OS, and that works very differently depending on the printing system. So it is more difficult to program.
