Scribus wants to subset a font not in my file

I am converting a document I am working on from proprietary fonts to open source fonts. The document I am working on was using Univers Next Pro and Optima LT Pro. I converted the document to use Perun instead of Univers and Libertine Sans instead of Optima.

When export to PDF, the document still wanted to subset Optima LT Pro and Univers Next Pro. I double checked the following things and removed any instances of the proprietary fonts:

1. Checked all styles
2. Checked all master pages
3. Check the document settings to change the default font

Then I saved the file, and it still wanted to subset those fonts.

I saved the file and opened it in a text editor and did a search for Optima LT Pro, found one instance and replaced it with Libertine Sans. I saved the file, opened it in Scribus and it no longer wanted to subset Optima LT Pro.

But it still wanted to subset Univers Next Pro. I again double checked all all styles, master pages and preferences, and did not see Univers Next Pro anywhere. I then opened the file in a text editor and did a search for "Univers" and even "Univ" and it did not find anything. But Scribus still wants to subset the font.

The next thing I'm considering doing is removing the font from my system, relaunching Scribus and hopefully having it tell me there is a font missing and let me do a permanent substitution.

Is there something else I should try?

Well, removing the font and doing the permanent substitution worked. I just don't understand why Scribus wanted toe embed the font when I could not find a reference to it in the XML file anywhere.

I have a feeling that the restart of scribus is all that is needed. somewhere the font reference  wasnt removed from memory.
