[SOLVED] Final line in text frame not justified

I am typesetting a novel and having problems with paragraphs that span text frames.

The last line in a text frame, even if it is in the middle of the paragraph, acts as if it is the last line in the paragraph. It doesn't respect the full justify.

However, I actually began typesetting this novel earlier before realizing I set the margins wrong. I made a new file to correct the issue (in case I change my mind again later lol), and this issue is ONLY happening in the new file, which makes me think I forgot to tweak a setting somewhere. The original file justifies the text based correctly on its location in the paragraph, not in the frame.

What did I forget?  ???

are you using the option Align Text Justified or Align Text Forced Justified. to format the text?

Align Text Justified. However, I just went and tried Align Text Forced Justified, and weirdly enough it didn't affect that line either:

So now I'm thinking maybe it's a bug.

If you can post the .sla, something weird is going on. Best if you do a collect for output.

Sorry, what is meant by collect for output?

Never mind, I found the option. .sla attached.

Ok looked over the file. cant find an issue. I'm thinking there might be something wrong with the font. Have your tried another font and see if the issue persists?

side note, i have forgot to mention to zip of the entire directory from the collect to output and attach that.  ::)

That seems to be it! Picking a different font fixed the issue. Thank you!

I have used Alegreya fonts version 2.008 without any problems
Check your font version.

Update: it's still happening.

I tried a different font, as stated before, and that temporarily seemed to fix the issue. However, about 80 pages in, it started happening again.

The work I've already done has not changed, thankfully. But the issue is now appearing in any NEW pages I add. Which means I can't finish the project. This is incredibly frustrating. I have not changed my process, or the previously-functional font, which is making me loop back around to the idea of this being a bug.

I just wanted to update this thread in case anyone else is having the same problem and changing the font doesn't work for them either.

did you change the font for the whole document? double check the font being used, as it may be back to the Alegreya font. Scribus will default to font set in the default document template. (or current template used) right after hitting return. It can be the single most frustrating quick scribus has

This was it. Thank you so much. The font was displaying the same as the previous pages, but selecting it revealed that it was secretly Alegreya (???) and changing it back fixed the issue.
