[SOLVED] Newbie - images keep moving, leaving parts missing!?

If I'm missing out a click somewhere, or doing this in way that Scribus doesn't like, it would be great to know where.

For example, for inserting an image, resizing and adding nodes to allow text to be close to the drawing, I do this:
- draw image box
- get image file (jpg)
- click Content Properties and select 'Free Scaling'
- adjust size of image box
- edit nodes so text will flow around the image as required
- click ok
- click Content Properties.... and sometimes Free Scaling is still checked and sometimes it isn't.

Thanks for your help.

Editing the nodes of the images box is needed if you want to hide parts of the images.

If you want the text to flow around it, you'd better -- as already other people tried to tell you -- edit the contour path.

But I've tried your workflow, step by step, and I could not get the Free Scaling setting to "uncheck" (being a radio button it can not really uncheck, but it would switch to "To Frame Size"... but this does not happen either).

And, in the last several years, I don't think that I've heard of images moving around in the frames by them selves...

I've tried editing the contour paths and selected text flow around contour path.... it often results in bits of the text being hidden as shown below. (first pic is in preview mode to make it easier to see)

yes, that's what i didn't think of in my first answer. but admfubar told me and later we tried to tell you how to deal with it.
(just reread the posts #12 and #16...)

Isn't that just because the image does not have transparency? And is above the text? (I don't remember if flow around frame requires the frame to be below or above the text.)
