Creating columns when not desired

Good evening,
Is there kind of a bug ? When creating a new Scribus document I choosed to have all pages divided into three columns but then every text frame I insert is divided into 3 sub-columns too,  what will produce 9 columns on the page width! Each time I must go to "Contents properties" of the frame and change 3 for 1 column. Waste of time ! Should I re-install Scribus completely ?
Thank you in advance
Regards
Pierre

As far as I know there is no setting to "divide pages into three columns". What you would do in such a case is to set guides for 3 columns.

The setting your are setting to 3 columns is likely the default setting for text frames, text frames are as far as I know the only objects that have a setting for the number of columns.

Good evening,
You're right. I was confused by the name of the dialog: (I translate from French) "properties of the page", because at the bottom the division into (3) columns doesn't concern the whole page but the text frames.
Thank you very much
Pierre

PS: to "set guides for three columns" is the same thing as dividing or sharing the contents of a page into 3 columns, in my opinion.
