Converting from Publisher to Scribus
« on: September 22, 2019, 12:03:28 pm »
I have a 48 page document booklet size A5 which I want to convert to Scribus. I obviously don't want to do it manually as it would not be time effective, however if it can be automated I am quite content to do some tidying up. I am very computer literate. Any advice would be welcome.TIA

The current (2014) development version of Scribus (1.5.0svn) includes an import filter for MS Publisher documents. The current stable series (1.4.x) and the previous versions of Scribus don't support importing Microsoft Publisher documents.

While the import tool works, it is far from perfect.  You might have to do some work or a lot of work to fix the import.  My documents are usually less than 8 pages that I have converted previously so I did mind having to recreate a few of them which was not difficult.  I can give you a walk through of my process if you are interested, though 48 pages could be a bit of work...

Cheers!

Try select 'file' → 'open' to get the whole file.
