Parallel column formatting
« on: April 21, 2014, 01:51:35 am »
I wish to produce a document that will be several pages long and two or three columns. Two columns are to be parallel, that is information or text in the left column will relate to information in the right column. I have created multi-column, multi-page text in Scribus and have flowed. For this project, I wish to flow some text across the left column of the pages and different text across the right columns. Is this possible to do? Shall I insert two separate text boxes on the master page (eg txtlft, txtrgt)?

You should not put any frames on the master page, master pages work as "page background" only.

I would use two frames on each page (to avoid having to "draw" them manually for each page you can use the scrapbook feature for a template), but you will still get a lot of work to get the text in the two columns aligned if you make adjustments.
