Hi!
I've been using Scribus very successfully for black and white brochures and magazines.
Recently I wanted to move on to better quality colorful brochures.
The printer shop asked me to send a PDF file in CMYK colors and PDF-X1A format.
Until now I had no idea of CMYK colors. I only used RGB.
How can convert my documents for the required format? Any help is welcome. Thanks

Export to PDF "for printer" will create a CMYK PDF. "For screen/web" will create a RGB PDF.

hi lectus
what nermander wrote is correct – but scribus 1.4.3 doesn't support .pdf/x-1a.
if you're working under windows, you may download scribus-1.4.4svn (http://lists.scribus.net/pipermail/scribus-dev/2014-April/002040.html). with this version you can export in .pdf/x-1a format…

I'm working on both Linux and Windows. Thanks for the link. I'll use that version for final release.
BTW... is exporting as PDF-X1A with "for printer" output enough?

your printshop should tell you which color profile they need – then you export to the specified cmyk profile. (color management has to be activated and you need this profile as an .icc file on your system.)
