Title: 1.6.6 Unstable on my Mac
Post by: TNGEO on July 06, 2026, 05:05:30 PM
I updated to Scribus 1.6.6 on my mac studio (Tahoe 26), and find it unstable. I closed the program, installed it, rebooted my computer. Now, when I paste images in a text box the whole page goes blank, as do following pages. They come back in flitty ways, not conducive to document development and editing. Is there a bug fix for this yet? If not, I will try to reinstall the previous version.

before you reinstall, which wont really do anything for you anyway, exit scribus and locate the configuration file for scribus.  there should be a scribus directory in ~/Library/Application Support , rename the directory to scribusold, then restart scribus (directory may be named .scribus.

When scribus restart it recreate the configuration files with default values. try opening or recreating the document with issues and see if the issues persist.

~/Library/Application Support/Scribus and ~/Library/Preferences/Scribus are the two locations you'd want to delete files from, with Scribus closed. Unless your disk is corrupted, removing the Application files will likely do nothing.
