Title: Multilingual management / Gestion multilingue
Post by: nenex-ordi-libre on May 13, 2026, 12:59:25 PM
Hi

As I'm not an English speaker, I've translated with DeepL. I hope it will be understandable  .

I need to create several brochures that will be bilingual. Should I create one file per language, or is it possible to manage both languages in a single file? This is regarding the layout. If I need to make a change in one language, I'll have to redo it in the other language. This is especially true for the cover, which will have the same layout except for the subtitle. But it's also the case for the page headers, which will be the same for all the brochures.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Salut

if it is possible with your layout, i would work with different layers:

But you will probably have to do the translation updating  manually. Someone here might have a solution to automate such a task.

Layers are a great idea! I need to look into them—I've never used them before. As for updating the text, you have to do it manually anyway, right?

there may be automated solutions. but you would need to correct the results anyway. that's why i would do it rather manually than dealing with garbage later...

When I said to do it manually, I was referring to the edits, not the translations themselves.
