I am on a Mac, and after a few years, I use only a small number of the same fonts. i have gone into Preferences numerous times, and the list is overkill. Instead, is it possible to build a font library file and remap so only Scribus uses? My other apps seem much more efficient at font management?
Thanks
in scribus 1.7.3 you could go to ,preferences' → ,fonts', select the first font, then scroll down to the last one and select it while pressing the shift key. now you might deactivate all your fonts with the context menu. after that just reactivate your preferred fonts. (this won't affect already existing files. but it will work for all the files you create afterwards...)
unfortunately this doesn't work in scribus 1.6.6 as you can't select multiple fonts. here you would have to click once for every single font to deactivate it – a time consuming process if you have tons of fonts...
utnik
just a small supplementary hint:
after having selected the "consecutive" fonts with the shift key, you can deselect single ones by clicking on them with the ctrl key pressed.
