Hello, I have just installed Scribus. I have a Mac using Tahoe. I was used to InDesign but with my new computer I would have to buy expensive subscriptions.
I looked up some tutorials but they always have the tool bar. I don't see mine! I looked up everywhere and can't find it.
Thanks for your help!
Can you see the main menu (File, Edit, Help)? If you right click in the space next to the main menu, that should open up the context menu for toolbars which controls which ones are visible. There's a little checkbox for each of the possible toolbars - tools and view are the ones I always keep open!
Scribus should remember which toolbars you've opened and keep them between sessions.
I have a little reference document I've been pecking away at for Scribus 1.6 which has screenshots of the various menus. It's not complete & focused on the home-bookbinding user, but it might help - Getting Oriented in Scribus (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BT6b7fl1bt4qaVQxZLxWOlPIazYfUAe4KZUnYr3Q2Yk/edit?tab=t.0#bookmark=id.a0zyl2li1o43)
Oh! I just remembered seeing this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/scribus/comments/1pp4cm3/issues_with_tool_bar_on_top/) on Reddit - apparently it's possible for the icons of the toolbar to blend in with the background on Mac.
If you're having that problem, try going into Preferences > User Interface > Theme and changing the icon set.
