Title: green alignment lines
Post by: PN on November 13, 2025, 05:36:24 PM
What settings do I need to enable to display these green alignment lines?
Thank you.

hi pn

either 'view' → 'grids and guides' → 'show grid' or 'file' → 'document setup' → 'guides' → 'visibility' → 'page grid' for the current document and 'preferences' → 'guides' → 'visibility' → 'page grid' as a standard for future documents.

...but if this grid is better than guides (free or in columns and rows), it's probably better to deal with a vector graphic program (like inkscape (https://inkscape.org)) than with a layout program like scribus...

Speaking of alignment guides.. Is there an option for extending the positioning marks to pass through the pointer? I though scribus did this at one time.

The proposed solutions display the grid across the entire document, whereas I only want to display the horizontal and vertical guides for the selected image (the guides appear when the image is aligned horizontally or vertically on the page, or aligned with another element on the page).

ok. – for those lines you need to activate 'page' → 'snap to items'.
