Title: [SOLVED] Rulers: Changing the Units
Post by: John648 on September 02, 2025, 08:21:30 PM
Greetings!

I am using version 1.6.4, and would like to have my rulers display in inches.  It is currently in some unknown units - neither inches nor millimeters.

I read that there is an icon on the lower left, but I don't see it on my display.

I am guessing that the control is in Preferences, but I can't find it.

Thank you for your help!

John

In "File > Document Setup", in the first "Document Setup" section and the "General" tab, you can choose the document's unit: it will be the unit that you have chosen in the "File > New Document" dialog at the time you created the document.

You can change it, and all the unit for most measurement will be using it.
There rulers, too.

If you want a different unit for your future document, you can set the value for "unit" in "File > Preferences".

Yes, it was on the bottom toolbar, hiding in plain sight!

I'll try to come up with some more challenging questions.

Thanks again,

John
