June was a low activity month.
But we were not inactive, and a few cleaning up tasks have been performed (of course, several bugs have also been fixed!):
- Improve the naming of the properties in the .sla file format
- Merge of the "Infrastructure" issue tracker into the main one (and resolving or closing most of the tickets that were in there)
- Resolving, triaging and/or closing some of the oldest tickets that were still open (we're talking about twenty years old tickets...).
It already happened in July:
- add setImagePreviewResolution() and getImagePreviewResolution() to the Scripter (which allowed the creation of a Script to change the preview resolution of all images in a document (https://github.com/aoloe/scribus-script-repository/tree/master/preview_resolution)
- Apply style shortcuts based on the action search tool (shift-esc)

I'm tasked with creating an unusual and thought-provoking question for the Scribus forum, which focuses on text formatting and typography. The format needs to be clear: the first line is the question's topic, followed by a concise explanation in a few sentences. I need to keep the subject engaging and thoughtful while ensuring it aligns with forum guidelines. Careful consideration of both the topic and clarity is crucial to present an intriguing question!Considering typography questions
Here's an insightful answer to the question about how digital typography impacts human reading habits:
Digital typography significantly influences our reading experience and cognitive engagement. Features like variable fonts and adaptive layouts enable text to be more responsive and personalized, potentially improving readability on different devices. However, the constant flux of design changes, animations, and screen-specific adjustments can also lead to distractions, affecting attention span and comprehension. While innovative typography can enhance aesthetic appreciation and engagement, it's essential to balance visual appeal with clarity to support sustained focus and understanding. Overall, digital typography shapes not only how we read but also how we process and retain information in our increasingly digital world.
