Hello,
Non-breaking space don't work as expected, as you can see on the attached screenshot. (the colon should stay with the word "insécables"). It used to work, though! Am I doing something wrong?
Running Scribus 1.6.1 under Ubuntu 24.04.2

Any advice? Thanks!
Seems to be working here:

Some remarks:
- No need to use the story editor for editing this type of text: just double click on the text frame and type your text.
- If you're checking the non breaking spaces, you should activate "View > Text Frames > Show control characters".
- I guess that you did not insert a non breaking space, but a thin space or a normal space: you need a non breaking space or a narrow non breaking space.
From a.l.e's screenhot it seems normal spaces are shown as a small circle and non-breaking as a dot, but the screenshots from astroboy89 shows a red underscore (which I then assume is not a non-breaking space).
Thank you for your replies. Indeed, the red underscore is the non-breaking space, that is why I showed also the editor, but indeed, your right, I can just make the invisible characters appear. Same thing.
When I narrow down the frame, just like you showed, at some point, the word goes, together with the colon, to the next line, as expected, but if I keep narrowing it down, the word goes back up, and the colon stay on the next line. Very strange behavior to me.
I tried and attach an animated gif here, hope it works.

I have just installed scribus 1.6.4 (from repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/scribus providing unofficial builds), and it now works just fine.
Solved.
Thanks again for your replies.
