When importing an CMYK image into Scribus
Attached screenshot of actual image on left when viewed in any Image Viewer.
When we import this into Scribus - its shown on right in attachment where all the colors are messed up.
If someone can please help with which color management profile should be set. Attached another screenshot with the current Color Management setting.
Thank you
hi abi
this looks really strange. i have never seen something like that. when i place cmyk images (usually .kra or .tiff, but just tested with .jpg as well), they look correct on screen and export correct.
what file format is it in your case?
if this happens with different images, you should file a bug report (https://bugs.scribus.net/) with an affected .sla file and the used image.
utnik
the image in scribus looks like an negative. Can you attache the image here so we can check?
Thank you for your replies - below is the google drive link where i have uploaded a couple of images

Please let me know if you find any solution for the same.
hi abi
i placed your images on test files in scribus 1.6.2, 1.6.3.svn and 1.7.0.svn. all of them looked normal. i wasn't able to simulate your strange color effect (unless i experiment with 'extras' → 'manage images' → 'image tools' → 'image effects' → 'quadtone' or something like that...)
utnik
My thoughts too utnik.
abi: did you use a copy of a previous image frame for this image? Specifically one that you added effects to?
I have uploaded a video showing on how we are adding the image and have loaded the settings as well just to confirm that we are not doing anything wrong

Please have a look and let me know
Thanks
Have a look to Right click in image frame to image effects.
It could a negative effect.
hi abi
you don't do anything wrong.
please file a bug report (https://bugs.scribus.net/) (including this screen cast, the image and informations to your operating system and scribus version). you could link to this thread as well.
utnik
Have reported the bug -
https://bugs.scribus.net/view.php?id=17333
Thanks everyone
Lets make sure it isnt a bad config file. Make sure scribus isnt running, and navigate to the scribus config directory (.scribus), and rename it.(say to .scribusold. Restart scribus, it will remake the config files ad their default setting, and try that image again.
It's not config. See the bug update from Jean
Are ya sure?.. guess what happened after i had scribus create a new config file?
The image loads just fine.
It happening on Windows 10 and 11 OS
hi abi
as i wrote in the bug tracker, as long as the bug isn't fixed i would convert the images into another format (i.e. .tif).
this can be done with lots of images in one run.
i converted your three example images with 'xnConvert' (https://www.xnview.com/en/xnconvert//) – it doubled their size. hopefully this is not a problem.
utnik
Thanks - let me try with image conversion.
