Hi,
I created a style and changed the font and the font size.
When I apply the style to a part of the text, the font changes but the font size stays the same.
Am I forgetting something?
I am using the Scribus 1.6.2 Appimage on Linux Mint.
Is it a paragraph style of a character style?
Was any of the text directly formatted not using a defined style, like from using F3 ?
can you show us a screen shot of the style that you created? opens the style manager and select the new style. The window should expand then do a screen capture.
@PatJr It is an Alinea style
@AdmFubar I don't have an URL to put it on, but all changes are made in the 3rd tab Drawing Style (I'm using a Dutch version)
you can attach a file to a post
sorry, I don't know what a Alinea style is
@PatJr I changed the language to English, yes it is a Paragraph style.
If I choose to insert an image, I only see the option
URL: https://I only changed the font to Chilanka and the font size to 18 both on the Character Style tab
Then I do the following:
- I choose the icon for
Edit Contents of Frame - I select a paragaph with the mouse
- I press F3 and choose my new style, the font changes, but the font size in the Text Properties window stays at 12 pt instead of my configured 18 pt
Should I select the style otherwise?
I would expect to be able to do this with right clicking on the selected text, but then there is no styel option.

If you use the red reply button on the last message in the thread, you will get an option to attach a file.
@AdmFubar, sorry, but the REPLY button also has Insert Image button that requires an URL
hi kees
take a look at this screenshot!

here is a feature of this forum, that is easy to oversee:
once you have attached an image, you get a very small black triangle that lets you insert the image into your post (when you hover it, it gets red...)
insert-image.png
hard to spot...
and then you have to click on the "INSERT" button: it is much bigger but still often as easy to miss...
@AdmFubar Finally found out how
@a.l.e thank you for the insert tip!

Are you changing a whole paragraph? or just a few characters in a line of text? If the latter I think you need to make it a character style and not a paragraph style.
I am changing the whole paragraph
I did some further experimenting and found that (I have automatic linespacing on) the line spacing and the end-of-line character are englarged, but the font is not.
I also tried Nimbus Roman with Bold and Regular, they both change, but the font size does not.

the end of line character retaining the document default font style and sizing, is the most troublesome issue scribus.
Compared to the line spacing, the end-of-line character seems to be the only one with the correct size.
According to you profile, you use 1.6.1 on OpenSUSE, do you also use the Appimage?
Does this work correctly for you?
I just tried 1.6.2 on Windows, with the same result, am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
hi kees
could you share an affected .sla file and the used font?
utnik
Here are the .sla and the font, zip'd
Took a look at the file. Is there a reason that there is 60+ character styles defined?
hi kees
there must be some direct formatting in your file which overrides the settings from the paragraph style.
i opened the file, selected the strange paragraph on page five and clicked on 'remove direct paragraph formatting' in the 'text properties'. then the font size changed.
utnik
Thank you both for your replies
@AdmFubar the styles came with 1.6.2, I only created one style
@utnik I'm out for the weekend, will have a look at it when I'm back
if you only created one, them most likely your file may have acquired an error. How old is your system?
