Title: Email and URL in Scribus > PDF?
Post by: dezcat on March 21, 2012, 06:56:50 AM
If I have the text of a URL or an email address, can I have those end up as live, clickable URLs or emails in a final PDF of the Scribus layout?

I'm looking for the tools to do this, but not seeing any.

OK..I found out how to make a URL out of text...but don't see how to do a mailto:  link..

I tried doing the URL method..the external web link and putting in the mailto: tag, but that was a bust...is scripting required to turn text into a mail link?

Thanks for any help.

I just tried here (Scribus 1.4.0. Portable version) and it worked as expected.

I created a sample document, created a text frame, entered some text, created a PDF annotation on top of the text, set it to External Web-URL and entered "mailto:my@address.com". Export to PDF, clicked the link, my e-mail program opened with a blank e-mail addressed to my@address.com.

I realize that this is an old thread, but I would like to be able to provide a "Submit form" button on a PDF, which would not only open up an email client, but also attach the completed application form.

Yes, the "mailto" function works properly, but is there a way to include the filled out form as well? At the moment, all I see is a blank email, with the destination email address and Subject line completed?
