you could file it as a 'feature request' here.

Text and Typography / hyphenation limit 5 letters

I'm looking for a setting I think I had already used:

Where do you set the length of the shortest word that may be hyphenated by the Hyphenator?

For my taste too many words get hyphenated.
Under Document Setup or Preferences under "Hyphenator" I can only tick two boxes.

Was the same for Ubuntu 22.04.

QuoteI want to know the font in that image. Anyone knows?

Moderation: the quoted text is from a spam message that has been deleted.

That text is hand written.

But since it's one of the most popular hand writing on the internet, people have created a font for it:

Hi Craig

Would you mind, posting a short message with a link to the preferred platform (or workflow) for the translations and a list of incomplete language (or a link to a statistics that shows which languages need care)?

That might help people getting involved...

Just a quick reminder for this. 5 days to go. We still have quite a few languages not at 100%.

The solution was there, only I didn't realize it...

What we want is the barcode without the second block, without the 5 digit block -- "the 5 digit addon"...

To achieve this, it is NOT the method that need be changed but just the input :) :)
Namely, we have to omit the additional 5 digits from the input sequence.

for example:

Data:    978-1-873671-00-9 54499
Options: includetext guardwhitespace
Encoder: isbn

this will produce the 2 block barcode...

while this:

Data:    978-1-873671-00-9
Options: includetext guardwhitespace
Encoder: isbn

will produce the one block version...
cause there is no additional 5 digits at the end of the input sequence...

ALL is clear!! :)

as explained here:

case closed, I guess :)
Tutorials, Tips and How-Tos / Re: Typesetting a novel with S...

I think if someone is typesetting her/his novel, s/he'll be a beginner or an amateur, anyway, new to Scribus and to the entire concept of book layout...

Therefore, Scribus is  a wrong choice of tool...
Libreoffice allows for a a high level of flexibility with the text...
you can modify it... you can keep working on it...

With Scribus, you need to have a set plan... and a finished final text...
and if you want to change "something", it might expose you to very tough problems...
that you can solve if you're a pro... using scripts...

Anyway, the first 2 tutorial is bad enough, completely ignoring what someone new would like to know
regarding typesetting... I guess he's reconstructing his own book making trip, that's why he's not starting with a "what do we need to do?" kind of exposition...

I believe (I'm no PRO, and I'm new to Scribus) Libreoffice is better for most people... (for typesetting a novel)
Scribus is "only" better for those who are into very professional work...
and who work with finished text :) AND images! Text and images!

Whenever that comes up, Scribus is way-way-way ahead of Librreoffice...
But a novel won't really have images...
