@BN_Dev, very nice to see more support in code development.

Currently, I'm focusing on general UI improvements for 1.7.0.
Regularly I publish the latest development state on Codeberg (it's based on Git) and try to keep it in sync with the latest SVN changes. https://codeberg.org/Scribus/scribus
You can also check it out if you want to see the latest UI changes, but keep in mind that it's not the official codebase, not maintained by the Scribus lead dev team (only by me :D). It contains more or less experimental changes that lead to some patches that I post in the bugtracker.

If you prefer a git based workflow, I can grant you access to the project. But, as ale said, you have to submit your changes as a patch file via the Scribus bugtracker.

Thanks
Martin

can you show us a screen shot of the style that you created? opens the style manager and select the new style. The window should expand then do a screen capture.

What I think you really want to use here are templates, and maybe some master pages as well. You can import the styles from the other document, from the style window, there is an import button to do this.

Can you post up a sample file that has the problem?

Is it a paragraph style of a character style?

Was any of the text directly formatted not using a defined style, like from using F3 ?

Hi,

I created a style and changed the font and the font size.
When I apply the style to a part of the text, the font changes but the font size stays the same.
Am I forgetting something?
I am using the Scribus 1.6.2 Appimage on Linux Mint.

Beginner Talk / text not appearing in text box
Last post by inkfountain - September 09, 2024, 07:09:27 PM
I'm so frustrated. I have been working with Scribus for a few days & made a number of documents. Today I made a new template to start from, but I can't get my text to show up when I type in a text box. If I copy and paste a text box from a different document, it works. When I type in the text editor window, everything shows up. However, nothing shows up on the document itself. The settings for text are the exact same as they are on the documents where I can type in the text. I have restarted the program, closed and opened the documents, and nothing seems to work to get text to show up in a text window in a new document. What else can I do?

I did, but that did nothing.
I deleted everything in the templates folder and started over and that worked.

Nice to read your thoughts.

The only thing I can contribute for now: I'm not sure if it's worth to get into SVN, if you don't know it yet.

You won't interact with the Scribus' own SVN server, except for pulling updates that have been merged into the official code.
If you're proficient with Git, stick with it and focus on working on the features you need.

At the end of the day, the only way for you to propose patches will be through attachements in the bug tracker and, for that purpose, it does not matter if you got the code (and manage it) with SVN or Git.

And, currently, most people (if not everyone) proposing patches to the team is using Git: the "mixed" workflow is well  tested : - )

hi inkfountain

did you tell scribus where to find them? ('preferences' → 'paths' → 'document templates')
