Need certain color in Item Tools > Lines

I have a document, where I have to create many draw-out lines in a customer-pre-defined color.

So I go > Document Properties > Item Tools > Lines. And I set my Line-style, width etc. All that works fine, as normally.

BUT: I only get a very short list of Line Color options.

My question: How can I set any needed color in "Item Tools" > Lines > Line Color?

In the document under > Edit > Colors and Fills I have defined the customer's special color of choice and have given it a name. And it appears fine in all other menus, where I have to select a color. And I have chosen a large Color Set for my document. But whatever I try, under "Item Tools" the colors on offer are always this very short list.

I am missing a step, please help.

Select the line you wan to start with and press F2 (Properties). Window should open, and come to the top, about 2/3 down the window will be a drop open option colors.

This answer does not apply to my question.

I have to make so many lines, that for each new line I want to pre-define its color and style etc. This is done in Document Setup > Itam Tools. But - as I wrote - the window does not give me the colors I need.

Colors can only be edited without a document open.  From the drop down edit menu, select colors and fills. You add or import the colors you need.

Thank you @AdmFubar, your reminder about "no open documents" allowed me to extend the list of available colors in the "Item tools".

Then when I open my document, I need to set my custom line color via Document Setup. And now at last, the color I had defined earlier, is available.

A rather indirect solution, but I am happy, as there are many lines to do. I had mentioned.

So where can I now mark this question as [solved]?

well, it is not really solved.
colors for the actual document are edited when the document is open. but you have to close all your documents before you create colors for your standard palette (for the documents you create afterwards...)
the fact that the 'item tools' don't list the colors of the actual file is a bug and should be reported here. (it lists the standard palette which is defined for your new documents...)
