when I want to work at the items near the lower edge, I scroll down, but then the page jumps down, so that I can't see the lower edge. this is very annoying and I would love to know how to change that.
so far the only option is to reduce the display percentage, but that doesn't help when I need to look at details.
(I am using Scribus Version 1.5.6.1 on a Mac 10.14.6)
It helps if you increase the scratch space. Note: If you modify the Preferences without an open document, the setting will be persistent.
To modify the Scratch Space in your current document, open the Menu on top and go to -> Document Setup.
There you can use the values as I have in the screenshot.

hi bluejay
this 'jumping canvas' is annoying. but the pages will stay where you place them, if you move them with the scrollbar.
utnik
As an alternative, you can move the canvas with the arrow keys (at least on macOS).
oooh wow, it's true - the canvas stays there when I use the scrollbar or the arrow keys instead of the mouse. thank you so much!

Thank you! I now also found the settings you mention, and it works! Yeah!
