The document looks fine in Scribus, but printing or PDF generation results in the transparent areas turning black eg. not being treated as an alpha channel. Using version 1.6.3.

This isn't really a survey dear ones,  however rather a  genuine  mission for honest answers to an  truthful  concern.

I think about cock all the livelong day, and like  whenever I  detect a  significant bulge in a  people crotch. My  hubby Jim  understands about this. We share openly  concerning sexual thoughts, and he has the  very same "thing" with tits.

Does  thinking of  dick  throughout the day make me some kind of  fanatic? Honestly, I masturbate 3-4 times daily when Jim's gone, and with him when we aren't fucking. I  utilize three primary  playthings: a large  vibrator, a butt plug, and my trusty magic  stick. I  review here-- thank God-- that lots of you  additionally do the  very same.

Quote from: FrederickYocum on Today at 01:57:31 PMIn an effort to create four-up artwork for printing, I generated a PDF from a Scribus document which had drop shadows on a number of the text objects and placed it in a Scribus document. The transparency failed with whatever combination of PDF setting I tried. Is there a way to do this?

In the end, I copied the objects from the Layers in the original Scribus document and pasted them into the four-up one. Cumbersome and not as elegant, it would require any changes to be made four times.

Or is there a better way to do this? Newby question.

TIA
There is a way to do this. I imported the pdf into an image frame and it it imported just fine shadows and all.

Try this; File/Preferences. In the Preferences window User Interface, select the Interactivity tab, and adjust the Wheel Jump value. This might do what you need it to. If not you might  have to make the adjustment in your input settings, at the operating system's level.

Using scribus for the shadows, gives you the option to remove them easily. While having them as part of the image means having two sets of images available should you want a the images without. and a few more steps to swap them out to revert to shadowless images.

Beginner Talk / Re: Multiline text on a path

Thanks @a.l.e for the tip! I understand why silently cry is the last step... this is a very naive question but what's the challenge in

@AdmFubar the artwork team currently use InDesign, we're trying to find a way to automate the label artwork off of a template so things like translations and certification information for certain markets are catered for without manual intervention. The Scripter API is awesome and I've got a nice proof of concept using that but this multiline, wrapping text stumped me. If it's a faff to do manually it's going to be more faffy in code!

Thanks for the help and support :)

Text and Typography / Re: Scribus wants to subset a ...

It used to be that Scribus embeds fonts that are used in styles, or set as default font for text, even if there is no text in the document that uses the font.

Default font for text frames is often the overlooked issue.

Transparency in PDF is a bit problematic, it is only supported by later PDF versions, and then for printing it depends on that the PDF viewer supports it.

Scribus does not have a "transparency flattener", which I assume means that Scribus cannot handle transparency in placed PDFs. You could look at flattening the PDF for example with Ghostscript first (I have no idea how to do it).

Any ways to make it less janky?

Like when i scrolling down on the document, it always scrolls up a little too; and vice versa.

It also scrolls way too quickly in pop-ups/dialogue windows.

It is making the app border-line un-usable for me.
