Title: Can't export to PDF
Post by: ronwooduk on September 11, 2017, 11:04:10 AM
I have been exporting docs to PDF no problem but today it has stopped working. I have exited and relaunched the programme several times but this does not help. The document is fourteen pages long and contains text and graphics. Any ideas how to solve this please?

i guess we need more details...

how are you exporting to pdf?

what does it mean "stopped working" in this case?
you cannot open the dialog?
you cannot get the pdf once it as been "created"?
scribus crashes when exporting?

Hello,
I go to File, scroll down to Export, then click Save as PDF.
The Pre Flight Verifier pops up.
I click Ignore Errors.
The large Save as PDF box opens.
I click Save.
A Warning box opens saying "Cannot write the file" together with the file path.

It has been working fine. I haven't done anything differently. I have been creating PDFs happily for several weeks.

I have now changed the directory I am saving to. Instead of saving to My Documents I have saved to Downloads and amazingly IT WORKS. Not sure what the problem was. Thank you for looking.

very unlikely but not impossible that it is a scribus issues...

i would tip on a full disk or a locked file / directory... but hard to say without seeing your monitor...

I remember that in the past there was as bug like that Scribus showed a path that was not correct (which prevented PDF creation because the current dirctory was write protected), so by just re-navigating to the correct directory you could then save the PDF.
