Title: New user // How to align images in image frame
Post by: neilmowbray on June 17, 2015, 03:19:09 AM
Hello Folks,

I have done the obvious web help searches and got no hits.

I have an image frame with a PDF image. I want to centre
align the image within the frame. I cannot find any menu
options for such an action. Any ideas?

Neil

Neil, this might sound like a silly question but, why do you want to align an image to the centre of its frame?

Thanks for asking.

Yes. I have a image frame with width of the paper print area and there
is a company logo PDF included to it left-aligns within the frame. I want
it image, which is about 1x1 inch to appear in the middle of the print
area.

Obviously I could mess around with the image frame to make it tightly
fit the logo and then set of start x point of the entire frame but that does
not seem the natural solution.

If I've understood your requirement properly then all you need to do is:
* Make the frame the same size/shape as the image (Right-click -> Adjust Frame to Image).
* Align the image frame centred against the Page (Windows -> Align & Distribute palette).

If your image has "borders" (white space around it, or whatever) that mean that the "actual image" (the bit you want to see) isn't centred within the image then you'll need to manually centre the "actual image" within the image frame first.

Great that does the trick. I was missing the Window->Align&Distribute part.

Thank you.
