Hi
I followed your link to download the newest version on your website. For Ubuntu and derivates I was then linked to this website. (https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/scribus/) However, the best I can get there is the version 1.4.2!!! from Spring 2013. That is topped with the standard repository which installs the Scribus Version 1.4.4.
I think it is a scandal not to offer from the developpers to the Ubuntu users such an old version. At least the Ubuntu users are the largest group of Linux users.
Can you tell me please, how I can get at a 1.4.5 without compiling?
What link did you follow??
By clicking Download on www.scribus.net I am directed to http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Download
On that page there is a link to http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Debian for Debian/Ubuntu
The other link is to Ubuntu's repository, if you think the version there is old, complain to Ubuntu and not the Scribus developers.
Thanks. I will give my comment on the *buntu-Side.
