After decades of using Corel, I really wanted to switch to Scribus but, these excuses are killer. It is very interesting that we pro-users know what is exactly needed and the freeware developers are really acting free.  :D

But you will have to manually adjust the sizes of the frames och probably also adjust frame breaks manually, so maybe linking both set of frames is not that useful.

Where does the text come from? Would it be feasible to manually populate each text frame from source?

I will eventually be compiling, a collection of gnostic gospels, and their differences from orthodox Christianity in a format that will help the reader.

I am using these Bibles as a template to build off of.

Right now, I have to figure out what version of the gnostic gospels. I can copy in English that don't violate any copyright rules. I'm not sure how to do that right now and am open to advice.

qt 5.0).

at that time the world was still nice and dark themes not very popular.

the scribus development version 1.7 has moved to Qt 6 which helps supporting dark themes.

so, in about 10 years... sorry, before the end of the year, promised!... scribus should finally support dark themes (and some people say that we can sink the world wild energy usage).

and if this was the most incredible thing that scribus does not implement (correctly), i would be very, very, happy : - )

maybe you could do the graphics work in gimp and inkscape then save them at the dimensions you want
scribus has some tools and filters but is not so good with nitty-gritty graphics editing

As far as I know the only resampling Scribus supports is downsampling during export to PDF. Anything else you will need to do in an external program.

I can change the size but it does not resample. For example, I imported 300 x 300 pixel image and it is 1 inch square at 300 dpi. Let's say now I want to upscale it to 600 x 600 pixels while staying at 300 dpi. Makes sense?

Another thing:
* When editing a curve's control points, there is no option to smooth/cusp the node.
Linux / Ubuntu snap-store won't update...

I am running:
Scribus Version 1.5.8
23 January 2022
Build ID: C--T-F-C1.16.0-64bit
Using Ghostscript version 9.55.0

Version 1.6.1 is available, but I can't figure out how to get it to update.   My PC is running Ubuntu:
Linux rocky2 6.5.0-18-generic #18~22.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Feb  7 11:40:03 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
If I open snap-store, I can see Scribus, but it does not show up in snap list.  The Snap store says it is running "Version 1.5.8+dfsg" and it is 2 years old.

Sorry if this is a simple question, I am unfamiliar with how to update things on ubuntu.
