for several years now, a new scribus stable release has been promised for the end of the year...
without specifying the exact year that must end to make it happen.
this year seemed to be the right one, and a small promise even appeared in the scribus repository:
https://gitlab.com/scribus/scribus/-/blob/Version15x/ChangeLog?ref_type=heads
Scribus - 1.5.9 (Released 2023-xx-xx)
since, it has been announced, that 1.5.9 will never be released and 1.5.9svn will be 1.6, that gave us a little bit of hope...
... there are only few hours to make our dreams real. and change that -xx-xx into -12-31!
it's still possible!
go for it!
almost everybody is using 1.5.8 anyway, just release what you have and what is missing will get into 1.6.1... or 1.7.
yes, 1.7! please let's focus on having a sane roadmap for 1.7 and release it as soon as martin is confident that his work on the new UI is ready to be shipped!
