Bonjour

J'arrive un peu tard mais si tu n'as toujours pas trouvé la réponse :
il faut grouper les boutons radios qui vont ensemble.

Hello

I'm a little late but if you still haven't found the answer:
you have to group the radio buttons that go together.

And here is the answer (from the deepest meanders of the internet):

"Dr. Giovanni A. Orlando"  writes:

I'm following this thread now quite a while, and I think it's not really
nessecary to change the preset fileextension. You're always free to choose
a Name and Extension for your Files, since Scribus doesn't insists in a
particular Extension.

The second reason is that it's nowadays quite difficult to find a Extension
that isn't in use. No Wonder after 20 Years of use of 3 Letter Extensions.

A quick look on http://filext.com shows that the only sensable free Extension
would be .sla (sla = Scribus Layout). I would suggest that future Versions of
Scribus should use this Extension but also show the old one in the Fileselect
Dialogs.

Best Regards,
Franz Schmid

Yes its probably Scribus LAyout.

From the changelog. Somewhere in between 2001 and 2004 then..

23.05.2004
   * feature #704: saving doesnt add the *.sla suffix

09.12.2001   Scribus now uses the extension .scd for Documents to avoid
      conflicts with other Applications.

If i recall correctly, there is a release note or mailing list post where Franz announces the change of the extension to .sla and there is also the meaning.

Again IIRC, it's indeed Scribus Layout but I'm not sure about the A.

Well, if we want to get rid of the spam, in te captcha we could ask what was the original extension : - )

I've always though it was short for Scribus LAyout.

I don't remember... it seems to have existed prior to me joining the dev team.

General Discussion / What Does SLA Stand For?
Last post by MattMiller - October 30, 2024, 08:37:33 PM
My app does backend DTP using Scribus, then offers the generated .SLA files to the user, in addition to offering the generated .PDFs. In the help for the page where SLAs are are offered I'd like to say what SLA stands for. For example, for the PDF page I'm able to say that these are "Portable Document Format" files. For the SLAs, though, all I can think of to say is "Scribus Document" files. But, that seems kind of lame.

Is there some ancient secret about what SLA stands for? Maybe in some ancient language, even? :)

Thanks.

No stop, you can wait 15 minutes or more with no end (nobody can wait so long, only for Windows start). :-\

Of course it depends of the number of pages ... but today it works well.
10.000 characters and spaces = 10 s; 40.000 = 50 s, 190.000 = 5 mn.
-------------------

I found a "solution", I made a copy of the script with the 2 first loops only :

   # Espace = u'\u0020',
   # ¤ = u'\u00A4'

replacements = (
   ('\u00A4','\u0020'),                     # ¤ en espace
('\u0020\u0020','\u0020'),            # deux espaces en un

It works in some seconds 5 to 25s.
Usually the original article in a frame is 30 000 characters and I have pushed a "space ¤ space" in place of space in html source (problem with russian words), then 40.000 characters.

Then I start the original script with allready the two first lines and the others. It works in some times.

Quote from: snowstander on October 27, 2024, 08:21:09 PMI dragged a screenshot into a new blank document and want to resize it. Can't figure out how. There is a yellow alert triangle in the corner.

Right-click on the image frame, then select "Adjust Image to Frame."  Note that by default it will still keep your image in the same aspect ratio; if you want it to not do that, you have to go to Image Properties (by right-clicking, or hitting F3 with the image frame selected), go down to the section that says "Scaling," and then select "To Frame Size" and un-check the box labeled "Proportional."

Hopefully that covers what you're looking for right now.
