There are two window flags used: Qt::Tool and Qt::FramelessWindowHint

Thank you for the instructions. Using a custom QSS, I have managed to apply a coloured background and border to some parts (not all) of the 'colour fill' pop-up palette.

In the screenshot, you can see that I have applied a blue background (as a test to make it visible) to most of the background... but there are still strips where it is not applied (In this case, the strip with 'shade'. In other pop-up palettes, it is the strip for changing the 'opacity' percentage)..

I have also tried to apply a coloured border, but it only applies to some internal elements. As it is a frameless window, it is impossible to apply a border to the overall outline.

If the pop-up palettes are going to be replaced in the future... I would be interested in knowing the names of the elements that need to be called to change their interface. Thank you very much again.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for considering Scribus!

Currently, Scribus can import both ODT and IDML files.

Export is currently only to PDF, an initial support for EPUB is in the working and should be making some bigger progress before the end of the year.

Now, what is the work that should be done in Scribus for supporting Resource Description Framework?
On what kind of import or export would you want to see improvements?
Do you have any specifications that Lásló Németh wrote for his project in Libre Office?

Have a wonderful evening

Scripts and Plugins / LibreOffice > InDesign (IDML)
Last post by Michael Mueller - October 28, 2025, 03:39:39 PM
Hello,
Allow me to briefly introduce myself – I am Michael Müller, a German travel book publisher and author. My titles, published by my eponymous publishing house, enjoy a high reputation in German-speaking countries. For several years now, we have also been developing the travel guide app mmtravel (iOS/Android).
In order to build such an app with e-books, it is necessary to store the texts with semantic information.
To do this, we worked with LibreOffice developer Lásló Németh to make the Resource Description Framework usable in LibreOffice.
For a systematic workflow for print and app production, I am looking for a way to use these RDF-enriched LO files in InDesign for print output, with an equally powerful export function so that authors can use the latest production status for a new edition.
For Scribus, there is a LibreOffice import filter developed by Petr Vaněk. Perhaps there is a former developer who can help us estimate the development effort required?
In the case of InDesign and LibreOffice, the format to be supported would be IDML.

I am using:
- Windows 11
- scribus-1.7.1.svn-snapshot-20251002-x64.exe

All themes (fusion, windows, etc.) result in a pop-up window that has no border or shadow.

I have attached screenshots for the light and dark themes.

Please, can you tell me which OS theme you are using? Seems like the theme doesn't use a window shadow or something similar. The color picker is a frameless window.

Just a hint, the color picker container is a custom window class called "FloatingWindow". You could try to use it as a selector.

Hit this behaviour almost 3 years later. 1.6.4
Workarounded it by getting all group items, destroying group, getting text from text frames (no modification needed in my case) and creating group again.
I understand that modifying (i.e. resize) a grouped item can be tricky as it can change bounding box of the group and have some other side effects, but having to ungroup objects just to read the text is not much friendly.

Btw. I just wanted to search a text in the whole document :-)

Hello, it sounds good to me. I can redo the master or disable the warning. Either works well for me.

We are currently testing Scribus 1.7 in production and we are willing to report several issues. We managed to cause it crashing several times. How could we better proceeding reporting all these errors. Could you you suggest? Should we report them below this thread?

For example Find/Replace inside the Text Editor cause a crash for sure.
