Has just announced they were purchased by Canva. Some of the Affinity users are a bit upset by this.
Since Canva is a subscription based product, I wont be surprised if Affinity winds up subscription based. The Affinity programs are a deal for the price. But the writing is on the wall for a lot of programs, now that "AI" (really Machine Learning) is being used to generate creative works.
"1. We are committed to fair, transparent and affordable pricing, including perpetual licenses that have contributed to the success of Affinity."
"We know this model has been a key part of the Affinity offering and are committed to continuing to offer perpetual licenses in the future."
"3. We will provide Affinity free of charge to schools and nonprofit associations (NBA)."
See in a few years, the distance or proximity of these two promises.
