While it was probably not the issue here, some PDF viewers will crop the page to the cropbox when viewing it. Then they will not show the bleed area.

Hi utnik,
"Collect for output" is yet done with all options.
We are an association sael28.fr and we use Scribus for our books (see the library)

hi jipeji

your file looks correct. the bleed area is filled.
the black cut marks show the edges of the final page and your orange objects reach to the (dotted) bleed mark.

Hello everyone, from Brazil, but from a French Scribus enthusiast!

It seems to be a basic question, but I tried to find the answer to this in all sources I could and in the settings windows without success, please let me know if there is a topic already related to this :-)

When I export my file to PDF, Scribus automatically "cut" the layers to the bleeds limits, while I want exactly the contrary... I would like to send to the printer a file where the backgrounds fill the whole document, so that I limit the risks of cutting too narrow or too broad. Maybe the 2 enclosed files help to show my struggle. Any tips?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Jipeji

@tim_occ

Hi Martin, I hope you're about. I am trying to reach out to see how we can bring this into Scribus 1.7.x. I sent you an email on the weekend. Please reply or reach me at cbradney@scribus.info

thanks

hi victor

if i should export the .pdf file for you, then i need the full set of work files (.sla, images, fonts and color profile).
the best way to collect the whole lot is 'file' → 'collect for output' and checking both options to include stuff.

Hi utnik and thank's for your answer.

It's better to send you the book.
It's a 260 megas zip file size with 58 tif images.
Do you need images or only sla file (2.6 megas)?
I can send it via wetransfer ?

Thank's for your help,
Victor (from France)

hi chalavi

if it is a single element of the layout which leads to the crash, you could try to detect its position by exporting the file as two 100 page files. if one of them exports well, you split the other in two parts and so on. for one mixed-up object this should work.
otherwise you may try to export it on another computer (you might even send your work files to me, if you like...) or – if nothing else works – you could file a bug report and attach the problematic file. (set it to 'private' to protect your file from public access.)
