Title: Custom color in text frame background
Post by: randylewiskemp on September 27, 2012, 04:09:51 PM
I'm in Scribus 1.4.1.  I work from a template.  I hit F6 and bring up the layers menu.  I click on a layer, place my cursor in a text layer and hit F2 for properties.  I then hit the colors tab. I see some colors I can choose from.  Is there a way to use a tool like Color Pic to capture a color from the web and make it a custom color selection in the colors tab?  If so, how?  If not, will this feature be available in a future Scribus release?

I found the answer. You position the Color Pic tool over the web copy color you wish to duplicate. Y Then you click in Scribus edit -> colors -> new.  The C,M,Y and B percentages of the Color Pic tool correspond to the C,M,Y and K percentages of Scribus.

hi randy,

i don't 100% understand the workflow you are describing.. :.-)

however is a "simple" way to pick a color in scribus:
- activate the color picker in the toolbar
- click on the screen where you see the color you want to get
- in the pop up thats is shown, choose a name for the color
- now you can use the color everywhere in scribus
