Beginner Talk / Indenting a Paragraph
« Last post by Yajee on Today at 04:25:56 am »
Hey,

Say I have a text frame with a few paragraphs in it, one of those paragraphs I want to indent from the left and right by say 10mm, is that possible or do I have to place that paragraph in a separate text frame? When I try to do it it just indents all the paragraphs. On InDesign I was able to just highlight and indent said paragraph only so wondering what the method is here.

Thanks.

File > Import > Get Vector File

The resource gets imported as a single group - if you have multiple flourishes they will be imported as a single group. You have to ungroup to select individual items .. and sometimes that means regrouping the items you want.

Thanks Rob, if I were to single out one of the flourishes in say Affinity Designer or Inkscape or something, what is the best format to save it in to then import it into Scribus?

Hello,

Edit -> Colors and Fills

Have to select an existing color before the "add" color dialogue will show, never understood that myself.

Cheers!

Hello all,

As the title says, how is this done? I've been messing about with it but can't seem to find an option where I can add colours from scratch to a new palette?

Thanks.

Hello folks,

Just started using Scribus today so apologies for the newbie questions. I have some files with things like flourishes in them, the files are in .eps and .ai formats. Like in the image shown, how do I get just one of those flourishes like the one with the square around it into my document?

Using Scribus on Mac.

Thanks.

Maybe you have set the line color to »none«? The rectangle will display on screen, but not appear in the PDF.

Can you do a preview (the eye icon)? If the rectangle is visible in preview, it will definitely print.

To be honest, you need to color calibrate your hardware to the printing device. Soft proofing/printing with color profiles otherwise. I send my printing to a print shop that uses GRACOL color profile, so I design with that profile. Very long topic, web search will be best in advice for this. Calibrate your monitor with a device like:

I just tested making 2 boxes, one with a think border and it saved as a .pdf just fine, guess we need a sample file from you that doesn't work in order to see whats wrong (.sla) and what version are you using on what kind of system, also are you printing as .pdf or having Scribus save as .pdf?

You missed the point of my suggestion entirely.
