Title: Text Not Staying Put
Post by: Seeker Jon on October 10, 2015, 04:50:15 PM
Hello!

So I am new to Scribus, and using it to layout a roleplaying book I am writing. This means including tables of various sorts (gear, spell misfire effects, etc). The little bit of research I have done so far seems to indicate that Scribus is unfortunately AWFUL AT tables. The work around I have done so far has been to make each column of the table a text frame, use each line of this like a cell, and then use the XYZ Tools to properly size and align the text frames. Not the best plan, but it worked for the little table of languages I had to make.

But now that I'm working on the gear tables, I've run into a snag. I can set up the tables just fine, but once there is text in them, if I need to make any sort of adjustment in position to the frame, the text gets messed up. It shifts down in the frame, or gets cut off at the bottom, things like that.

Can anyone explain why this is happening?

The best way to do tables (unless you use 1.5) is probably to use TABs.

I have no idea why it behaves strange for you though.
