Title: Hyphenate Problem: Does not work at all
Post by: LexieDee on January 23, 2013, 07:22:47 PM
Hi!

I have a very strange problem: Currently, I can't get hyphenate to work: I have installed fedora 18 from scratch and wanted to hyphenate a new document, but clicking on hyphenate text (in the Extras menu) does not hyphenate at all. To the contrary: Old documents, where (under fedora 16) the text was hyphenated, it de-hyphenates the text if i click on "hyphenate text". I have no clue, what the issue is here. I tried it with version 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 and it's the same. No errors are shown, nothing.

Any clues?

According to Wikipedia you are probably experiencing a lack of «syllabification». Is that so?

Running Scribus on Arch Linux in Version 1.4.2. from the official arch repos, I had the same problem.

I de-installed this version and build V. 1.5 from SVN, now everything works as expected.

They seem to work in Windows7 running 1.4.2, but not as expected. I typed some text in a small box, then increased font size and at one point I got a hyphen. So it just isn't breaking when it should.
