Hi, mxshiki.

What I said before is right. I generated artwork as JPG and PNG, imported into Krita and converted to color profile of my ink and sublimation printer. Then I exported it in JPG with the same color profile embedded. So I imported these corrected arts into Scribus keeping the sublimation color profile. I corrected their size and position on the A4 sheet and exported them as PDF, with the Screen/Web option (since my sublimation icc profile is RGB) and maintaining the embedded profile of the images. Finally, I did the printing using Adobe Acrobat Reader (I was on Windows), following guidelines for sublimation. In Acrobat Reader there is no difference in the image converted as a sublimation color profile. Now I'm going to test on Ubuntu, using the Master PDF Editor, because in addition to preferring Linux, the Master PDF Editor clearly shows the images that are converted.
Announcements and Forum Rules / Scribus 1.5.8 is released.
« Last post by silverwoodchuck47 on January 27, 2022, 01:53:41 am »

The Scribus Team is pleased to announce the release of version 1.5.8.

Like previous releases, work on version 1.5.8 focused mostly on bugfixes and code optimizations, the latter of which are expected to lead to reliability and speed improvements. We have also begun to prepare Scribus for using Qt6, which will make our work easier for future releases.

Most important changes

UI Improvements for dark mode and some icon updates and window interactivity
Improvements to file import (IDML, PDF, PNG, TIFF, SVG)
    Improvements to PDF export
Improvements with respect to tables (undo/redo, styles)
    Improvements to the Story Editor
    Improvements to the build system
    Translation updates

Technical/OS-related updates
Scribus 1.5.8 now includes Python 3 and is built for mac OS Catalina or higher.

Additional Notes

The complete changelog is available here: More details are available from the Scribus Commit Mailing List archive (, beginning with revision 24637 in April 2021.

Please note that while some bug fixes still may be backported to the 1.4.x branch, we do not plan an official release of this version anymore. If you think you need the changes, you have to check out the SVN repository and build 1.4.9svn from source. We encourage all Linux and *BSD distributions to switch from 1.4.x to this new version, since it's not only much more versatile but also more stable.

a right click on an item in the 'inline items' window will show'paste to item'.
this will insert the item at the position of the cursor.

Beginner Talk / Re: Configuring Render Frames
« Last post by larose_andrea on January 26, 2022, 12:35:18 pm »
Dear Forum,

I'm going to continue talking to myself here...

So, I saw that the official version of 1.5.8 was released (I was using a nightly build previously). I have installed it, but the problem remains:
• I cannot create a render frame, because the tool is somehow not configured properly.
• I cannot configure it properly, because there seems to be little information on how to troubleshoot this issue.
• In external tools, when I click "rescan," it says Uniconverter executable cannot be found.
• I downloaded Uniconverter, but that installer does not seem to work, as no program manifests despite the installer seeming to work normally.

Any thoughts are most welcome.

I think the way to place them is to simply use cut and paste?

I want to start using inline objects (especially text frames), but I cannot find good information on what a proper work flow is. I can send a text frame to "inline items" and edit inline items, but I don't know how to insert them in the place I want it to be and so on.

If someone could give a little instruction on this for starters, that would be great (or if this exists, please link)

Thanks in advance.
Scripts and Plugins / What does redraw do?
« Last post by Truman on January 25, 2022, 12:19:51 am »
I'm checking out scripts and often a standard I see has to do with redraw.

The only thing I know is that it is disabled for speed.

What does this command do exactly? How does enabling vs disabling it change anything?
hi jeff

…I can't say that f3 is terribly intuitive.

it may not be intuitive, but essential. it's the content palette (for text frames, image frames, tables…)

Scripts and Plugins / Getting Group Members
« Last post by Derek on January 24, 2022, 05:19:09 pm »
Is it possible to get a list of members of a group?

Something like:

Code: [Select]

if getObjectType(name) == "Group":
    groupMembers = getGroupMembers(name)

# Do something with groupMembers

I'm hoping to avoid having to store the group's attributes, explode the group, (do something), then reassemble the group and restore the attributes.
