Title: .jpg or .tif - black and white scans
Post by: WV-Mike on February 21, 2022, 03:43:23 PM
I am scanning black and white drawings at 1200 DPI.
As it relates to using the images in Scribus is there an advantage to saving the images as either a .jpg or .tif file?

The default scanner settings for TIFFs are:
Multi-Page File
Uncompressed

For JPG
Quality 95

Thanks,
WV-Mike

jpg's are lossy. line drawings will have artifacts in them from using jpg format. Tiff is good, so will png or gif formats.
