Title: TOC: Destination frame not keeeping value
Post by: abasel on July 03, 2019, 08:18:34 PM
I think I have followed the tutorial instructions in setting up table of contents (TOC) . When I try to  generate the TOC nothing happens. When I then go back and check the settings, I notice that the "Destination Frame" under the "Document Settings => Table of contents and Indexes" has "none" set as its value.  I have given a line later on the TOC attribute (so this part appears to work fine).

I have tried a number of times but the value (in my case "TOC1") does not stay there.

Not sure what I might be doing wrong?

I am using the AppImage (Scribus Version 1.4.6)

hi abasel

thanks for having uploaded the document! it helped sorting out what is happening...

i had to add the target frame in the "document settings > toc" and, then, it did work...

Thanks for taking a look.

I was doing that but the setting (target frame) was not being saved.

It turned out that before the setting would take, I first need to click on "Table of Contents1" (point 1 on attached image) and then set the destination (point 2).

Initially I was going straight to 2 without selecting 1.

eh eh eh

personally, i would not use the automatic table of contents, but type it / copy paste it from the pdf... and setting the page numbers manually...

imo, it's really too much work to create all the attributes and it's not that flexible either.

a style based TOC is coming...
