Title: printer not responding
Post by: debroos on May 09, 2014, 03:55:26 PM
Hi

I have scribus v1.4.1installed on Ubuntu 12.04. My printer is an Epson Stylus Photo RX620.  When I try to print anything from Scribus, the printer carriage moves and the paper is pulled in a few inches, then it stops completely.  If I check the printer status, the document is up there, with the message 'printing stopped' - which I know already, but why?  The printer remains hanging with 'processing' flashing on the display, but it's clearly had a stroke and gone into a coma.  Any advice would be much appreciated.   :(

I've just discovered the solution. Check the 'alternative printing command box' and paste this into it -  lp -dname-of-your-printer.

hi debroos

this may work for you – but scribus doesn't print direct on every system.
if someone else isn't as lucky with his system, the solution is to print from a .pdf file.
