Title: PagePlus & Xara documents.
Post by: KeithSloan on November 21, 2014, 11:19:54 PM
I am new to Scribus and am interested in converting PagePlus & XaraX documents to Scribus. I found http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/File_formats_that_should_be_supported_by_Scribus_%28wish_list%29 (http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/File_formats_that_should_be_supported_by_Scribus_%28wish_list%29) and there is mention of PagePlus, but latest status is unclear.

Also when I try and import for Xara, I don't see any option for xar files. I have Scribus 1.4.0 installed on Ubuntu 12.04

It is not simple, because You need use indirect pdf format.
Save file from Xara or PagePlus as pdf and open in Scribus. Scribus 1.5 svn it can better than 1.4. (keep gradient fill, bitmaps).

Sometimes is possible this way: Xara or PagePlus -> pdf -> inkscape (free) -> svg -> Scribus.

Regards

That is a "wish list", that means it´s a list of things someone WISH Scribus had.

Suggest you READ the list it says a Xara conversion is DONE.
So where is it?

It probably means it's done for 1.5 (the next major version).

The Wiki documentation is in a bit of a mess and is sometimes used as "dumping ground" for people to share info. It's not ideal, it's just how it is.
