Raster and Vector Graphics / Display of imported images
Last post by pierruel - Today at 03:40:55 PM
Hello !
Sorry for my poor English. Precedently, when I used to import an image into an image frame, I was able to see really the imported image (and adjust its size, its position, aso). Now, instead of the image itself, I see only its properties (a small text with filename, size a.s.o.). How could I retrieve the former behaviour ? Probably a wrong setting of a parameter ? Thank you in advance. pierruel

You need a left and a right master page, and apply them to the corresponding pages.

@MrB would it be possible to produce a 1.6.x Appimage with the same versions of the libraries as for the 1.6.x on Windows?

What I meant was, although I have made master pages, that I have placed text frames in them and I added a page between chapter 8 and 9. Now, all chapter 9 main body text frames are slightly of center for their respective pages (a little bit to the right for the left pages and a little to the left for the right ones). What I am searching for is a way for the added text frames to automatically center themselves based on if the page is right or left. (And still be able to move them, if needed).

Quote from: Buch on March 25, 2025, 06:41:19 PMHow stable is 1.7? Should I upgrade if I want to work cross-platform?

1.7.0 is quite stable. It's more about functionality stability than crashes etc. You should not use 1.7.1.svn.
However, 1.7.0 is not going to solve this issue if all the base dependencies are the same. Better to stay with 1.6.3 for production and experiment with 1.7.0. Interface is quite different.

Ok it could be an issue with how your system handles drawing the screen. You could be seeing a difference between the high resolution print and how your system squeezes this down to a lower res screen.

Have you printed this page to check? If not, check the printed versions and see if this persists.

Note to developers, Is the color space model the only change in the pdf export, or is there a resolution change as well?

sounds like a job for "Master Pages". You specify how left and right pages should be set and save those settings as a master page.. Then just click to  apply  to pages as needed.

Take a look here for more info and see if this works for you.

I have typeset a few book chapters already, but I chose to enlarge the letters, which lead to the text needing more pages. That led to the text frames being uncentered. Is there a way to auto-centered the text frames, with a different option for left and right pages?

when creating table the table frame could be larger than the table. In this case when i do "Adjust Table to Frame", the table resizes itself and fits it to the frame-size. In my case the table was small and had many crossed boxes indicating cell content overflows when i had actually tried to calculate the column widths based on the content, and applied the col widths to the table using
scribus.resizeTableColumn(col_idx, width, table)And I have to do "Adjust Table to Frame" to finally fit the table to frame, whose width/height were calculated correctly by me.

AdmFubar -

Thanks. It's justified centrally, but justifying left doesn't change it.

Thanks as well, that's what I figured too. I was wondering if I was missing something... I can't change the size of the object, so I'll go with your suggestion and exclude words from those tiny places while placing soft hyphenations where I can.
