Title: Forcing new text to the next frame
Post by: ealterman on August 09, 2011, 04:32:04 PM
In preparing a newsletter, I have circumstances where I would like to add new test but need it to go to the next frame in the chain even though it could partially fit in the current one.

Is there a SMART way to do it - not brute force?

Thanks

Elliott

hi elliott,

how do you define "brute force"?

is a "frame break" (insert > spaces and breaks) ok?

Frame break will do it!

Thanks

Frame break, do you mean page break?

That is pushing the text into the next frame?

If so how do you do that?

Use:

INSERT-> SPACES & BREAKS->FRAME BREAK (or COLUMN BREAK)

The choice depends on  which you want to jump to (next FRAME or next COLUMN)

just to be clear, your situation as I interpret it is:

If this is the case I can think of two options(BEWARE reflow during editing):
1. as suggested already: Use a frame break
2. adjust the frame-size so that the paragraph either is contained in one frame or reflows in it's entirety to the next frame

I'm going to make a suggestion to include a "conditional frame break" in a future revision
