Title: "The program gimp is missing or failed to open"
Post by: Ina on February 08, 2022, 04:00:01 AM
Hi all! When I tried to edit the image, a dialogue writing "The program gimp is missing or failed to open" popped out.
I've looked into Preference > External Tools and Name of Executable is gimp already.

Can someone tell me how to solve this?
I'm using Mac with the Mojave OS.

hi ina

i don't really know why scribus doesn't find your gimp application. i'm just guessing...
if you've ordered your applications in subfolders of the 'applications' folder, or if you renamed 'gimp' to something like 'gimp-2.10.30' it may help to tell scribus the exact path to your copy of gimp.

Try to change this to the full patch to the executable (I have no idea what it would be, under Linux I would use "which gimp" from the terminal as a quick solution to find the full path (but this assumes gimp is in the searchable path and can be launched from the command line).
